Popcorn

Popcorn is a child’s favourite! Especially with butter and salt! However for the lunchbox – plain air-popped mixed with raisins or sunflower seeds is a great snack for the school lunchbox.

Cheese and Crackers

Who doesn’t love a Cheese and Cracker Platter? Hunt down little cheese packs to give a variety to your kids! Babybel, Cheese Sticks, Cheese Triangles are just a few I pop into my kids lunchbox to give them a variety of flavours with plain or oatmeal crackers.

Nut-free Trail Mix

I love a Trail Mix as much as I love a Ploughmans Lunch (lots of little nibbles!) But with most schools being “Nut-Aware or Nut-Free”, a shop bought Trail Mix isn’t always the best option! However making your own is prefect!
The way I start off is making a list of small nibbles my kids like and mixing it up together!

  • Air-popped plain popcorn
  • Cereal – Nutragrain, Crispex, Rice Bubbles
  • Dried Fruits (apricots, cranberries, blueberries, strawberries, etc)
  • Roasted Chickpeas
  • Mini Choc Chips – dark, milk or white
  • Banana Chips
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Chocolate Covered Raisins or Goji Berries
  • Seeds – Sunflower and Pumpkin are a favourite
  • Pretzels
