Needing Nut Free Snack Ideas for your kids lunchbox? Being at Nut Aware or Nut Free school, can seem daunting! We have put together a list of ideas to help you make your child’s school lunches fun, exciting and of course Nut Free!
Nut Free Snack Ideas for
Kids School Lunchbox
Make a list of your child’s favourite fruits and create a fruit salad! To keep it cold at school – ensure you use a lunchbag with a Ice Brick or our very popular Freezable Lid Containers.

Everyone knows how much kids love muffins or cupcakes! They are easy to make and a timeless lunchtime snack. Try out our Freezable Basic Muffin Recipe that can be used for savoury or sweet muffins!
Vegetables and Dips
This is a great way to get your kids to eat their vegetables. Vegetables give a great crunch to a kids lunchbox! Our go-to Dips are Hummus and French Onion as yummy kid-friendly dips. Carrots, Celery, Capsicum, Baby Corn, Snowpeas, Mushrooms are just the start!
Popcorn is a child’s favourite! Especially with butter and salt! However for the lunchbox – plain air-popped mixed with raisins or sunflower seeds is a great snack for the school lunchbox.
Cheese and Crackers
Who doesn’t love a Cheese and Cracker Platter? Hunt down little cheese packs to give a variety to your kids! Babybel, Cheese Sticks, Cheese Triangles are just a few I pop into my kids lunchbox to give them a variety of flavours with plain or oatmeal crackers.
Nut-free Trail Mix
I love a Trail Mix as much as I love a Ploughmans Lunch (lots of little nibbles!) But with most schools being “Nut-Aware or Nut-Free”, a shop bought Trail Mix isn’t always the best option! However making your own is prefect!
The way I start off is making a list of small nibbles my kids like and mixing it up together!
- Air-popped plain popcorn
- Cereal – Nutragrain, Crispex, Rice Bubbles
- Dried Fruits (apricots, cranberries, blueberries, strawberries, etc)
- Roasted Chickpeas
- Mini Choc Chips – dark, milk or white
- Banana Chips
- Mini marshmallows
- Chocolate Covered Raisins or Goji Berries
- Seeds – Sunflower and Pumpkin are a favourite
